The Global Goals

This graphic shows the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). The purpose of these 17 goals is to provide the tools for all nations to be able to build a strong economy but, at the same time protect the environment and support people. Economic growth is no longer the benchmark for businesses and countries. Now we need to support sustainable economic growth, to keep global consumption demands within the planetary boundaries that have been severely weakened from mismanagement, reckless greed and population growth.

The UN SDGs provide a framework that aims to alleviate poverty, support the many social needs of local communities, such as: health, jobs, education and equality whilst taking measures to protect the environment and reducing carbon emissions. Green Globe, the GSTC and us use these goals as a benchmark to work from to develop compliance standards that businesses can easily integrate into their operations and use to communicate their achievements to their clients.
