Green washing has been banded around the tourism industry for years. It describes when businesses claim they are implementing “green” practices but are in fact not delivering on these promises. The only way to be able to trust sustainability or “green” claims is when they are backed up by an independent audited onsite certification, like one of ours. An auditor will visit the operational site of the business to collect, documented evidence and proof of compliance to a set of standard criteria, as set out by the GSTC and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
